This board discusses IH Union drill levels and traditional star frameworks as community views — not official ratings.

Two hotels with identical hardware can feel very different to guests. We'd like front-line experience:

Which three service details most lift a guest's sense of tier?
Which details, when they fail, most damage the overall impression?
Can they be written into checkable standards, and how would you audit them?

To start things off, a checkable approach: turn "tier-defining" details into observable behaviours — e.g. whether staff greet a returning guest by surname, whether deliveries arrive within the promised time, whether staff ask about the stay at check-out. These can be audited by mystery-guest visits or spot checks of records.

Question: in your experience, which failure does the most damage to the overall impression — cleanliness, waiting time, or staff attitude?
